to this shrine to the memory
of John Lennon is the shade provided by
a cathedral of American Elms.
A gift of Naples, Italy it is a reproduction
of a Pompeii mosaic.
Inscribed at its center is the word "IMAGINE."
The Mosaic, is in fact, a focal point for that
which surrounds it. The truest appreciation
of its meaning is to be found in the creative
and spiritual contribution of the person it
memorializes and in the surrounding
environment that was touched by and in
turn influenced the life of John Lennon.
