The Temperate
Territory is home to the
California Sea Lion exhibit and the
Japanese snow monkeys who climb
the steep rocks of their rock island
habitat in the middle of a pond to the
west of the sea lion pool.
On a path behind the monkey exhibit
is a rustic shelter that looks down on
a narrow stream. It is the habitat of the
red panda a main attraction at the Center.
The sea lion pool, is a favorite spot just
beyond the entrance to the Center at its
central courtyard. This exhibit is all that
remains of the old zoo with the addition
of glass wall so that visitors can see the
animals as they dive from rocks into the
waters below.
