Eyelid Lift Surgery
The eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) can correct droopy
upper eyelids or sagging and puffy lower eyelids by removing excess skin,
muscle and fat. This procedure will give you a
more youthful and rested appearance and may help with
widening of visual fields in
certain patients.
This is usually performed under local anesthesia if performed alone but
general anesthesia may be required if combined with other procedures.
It is usually an outpatient proecedure. The incisions are made along the
natural lines of your eyelids. For the lower eyelids, an incision may
be made inside the lid to remove the excess fat without an external incision.
Bruising and swelling will last 7 to 10 days and most
patients will return to social activities
in 10 to 14 days. Eye make up can be used within 5 days
and contact lens can be worn in
3 days.
