Nose Reshaping
The nose reshaping procedure (rhinoplasty) is performed
to change the shape of the nose. The nose can be modified in a number
of ways to suit the patients' goals. The main goals
are to regain symmetry, shape and proportion.
This is an outpatient procedure and usually performed under local anesthesia
with sedation. Each patient will have an individualized procedure tailored
to their specific concerns. The patient will have an external splint or
cast which will protect the nose for 1 week and the
nose may be packed for 24 to 48 hours. The swelling and
bruising improves to acceptable levels within 2 to 3 weeks. The final
result is more apparent after 1 to 2 years.
